What is the difference between NHS & private treatment?

 

In general, NHS treatments provide only what is necessary for the health of teeth and gums. However, private treatments not only address essential needs but also offer a wide range of other treatments, e.g. cosmetic dental treatment, etc.

Who is entitled to NHS treatment?

 

People who ordinarily reside in the UK and have a National Insurance Number.

Who is entitled to free NHS treatment?

You do not have to pay for NHS dental care services if you are:

​

  • Under 18, or under 19 and in full-time education

  • Pregnant or have had a baby in the last 12 months

  • Being treated in an NHS hospital and your treatment is carried out by the hospital dentist (however, you may have to pay for any dentures or bridges.)

  • Receiving low-income benefits, or you are under 20 and a dependant of someone receiving low-income benefits

 

Low-Income Benefits​

​

You are entitled to free NHS dental treatment if you or your spouse (including civil partner) receive:

​

  • Income Support

  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

  • Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance

  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit

  • Universal Credit (in certain circumstances)

Certificates to Help with Health Costs

​

You can receive free NHS dental treatment if you are entitled to or named on:

  • A valid NHS tax credit exemption certificate

  • A valid HC2 certificate (which is available for those on a low income)

  • A valid maternity exemption certificate

Booking, Refunds & Cancellation Policy

​

The Kennington Surgery maintains a strict 48-hour cancellation policy for all treatments. It is important that patients read the policy below.

​

Bookings cancelled with 48~24 hours' notice can be rebooked and the deposit will be carried over to the new booking with no cancellation fees applicable however, no refunds will be given.

​

Bookings cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will lose the deposit and upon re-booking a new deposit would need to be paid.

​​

If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice prior to the appointment time and no deposit has been taken, we reserve the right to charge a 25% cancellation fee based on the cost of the treatment booked.

​

Unfortunately, if you fail to attend or cancel with short notice on two consecutive occasions, we can NOT offer any more appointments due to wasted appointment times and practice resources.

​

Deposits are approximately 25% of the treatment price.

​

If you need to cancel or re-book your appointment, please contact 020 7735 4579 immediately to avoid charges.

Refund Policy

Please note that we do NOT offer refunds on any aesthetic treatments.
