How long does the procedure take? It usually takes 45 minutes.

How long do the effects of fillers last? The amount of time fillers remain effective depends on the filler material used and the area injected however, in general, the effects last from 9-18 months.

From what age can dermal fillers be administered? Patients must be 22 years of age or older.

Which areas can be treated with fillers? We recommend fillers to restore lost volume in the lower face, lips, marionette line, chin and jawline in order to create a youthful and authentic look. However, dermal fillers can be injected anywhere into your body from the corner of your eyes to your buttocks.

What are the side effects of dermal fillers? Fillers are generally considered safe with mild discomfort for a day or two however, side effects may occur. The most common side effects are: - Bruising & ecchymosis Redness - Swelling - Pain - Tenderness - Migration of filler - Raised bumps in or under the skin (nodules or granulomas) Less common risks include: - Inflammation - Infection - Sores at the injection site - Allergic reaction

What are the contraindications (or reasons to avoid fillers)? The major contraindications to the use of fillers are as follows: - Active infection near the site of injection - Allergy/hypersensitivity to the materials or to the lidocaine mixed in the syringe of the filler - Suffering from mental health issues - Pregnancy or breastfeeding

Dermal fillers, also known as injectable implants, soft tissue fillers, lip and facial fillers, or wrinkle fillers, help to create a smoother and/or fuller appearance in the face., including nasolabial folds (the lines extending from the sides of the nose to the edges of the mouth), cheeks, chin, lips and the backs of hands.

Since some dermal fillers are naturally absorbed over time, you may need to repeat the procedure to maintain the desired effect. Successful results will depend on the underlying tissue structure, as well as the volume and type of filler used.

At the Kennington Surgery, we use only cross-linking hyaluronic acid such as Revolt. This cross linking modification allows the hyaluronic acid to fill wrinkles and maintain its shape for a longer period of time.
